PRIVACY & YOUR DATA
Your trips stay yours
TrekStash is built local-first. There's no account, no profile, and no server quietly collecting your trips. Here's exactly how your data is handled.
No account, ever
You never sign up or log in. There's no email, no password, no profile — nothing that identifies you.
Your data lives in your browser
Trips, expenses, journal entries and photos are stored on your device, in your browser's IndexedDB. By default, none of it is sent anywhere.
What actually leaves your device
To draw maps, TrekStash loads map tiles and imagery from Mapbox, and loads web fonts. When you search for a place or use your location, that query or those coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim to look up the name. If — and only if — you buy Premium, your device contacts our license service to activate or restore your purchase, and payment is handled by our payment provider, Xendit. That's the whole list.
Your backups are yours
Export everything to a single ZIP file and import it on another device whenever you like. The file is yours — TrekStash never sees it.
Privacy-friendly analytics
We use Vercel's privacy-friendly analytics to count visits and measure speed. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't build a profile of you.
Location is opt-in
Maps and "use my location" only access GPS after you grant permission, and you can turn it off any time in Settings.
